FROM VISION TO BUSINESS
MERTZ is rooted in a long-standing friendship between Peter Mertz and Michel Mentschke. Both were self-employed entrepreneurs until they decided to establish themselves in the German and European healthcare systems.
MERTZ Pharma Handel GmbH was founded in 2011 by Peter Mertz, while Michel Mentschke took charge of the areas of pharmaceutical law and distribution.
Together with MERTZ Pharma Holding and MERTZ Pharma GmbH, the company has expanded into a successful all-around pharmaceutical firm. The companies are headquartered in Hamburg. Michel Mentschke has taken over as CEO, while Peter Mertz has stepped down from day-to-day operations but remains with the companies as a consultant.
